Ten people were hurt, including a 5-year-old girl whom was critically injured, after an SUV crashed into a Little Caesar’s in Pacoima on the afternoon of Monday, August 18th. The incident occurred at the Van Nuys Boulevard location near Glenoaks Boulevard just before 6:00 p.m.

Witnesses described a chaotic scene as a white Toyota Rav4 suddenly crashed through the front window of the Little Casear’s. The Rav4 came to a rest completely inside the establishment, though structural damage was minimal. Authorities believe that the 60-year-old woman driving the Rav4 mistakenly hit the gas pedal instead of the brake pedal, causing the car to zoom into the restaurant. Neither the driver nor the two children in her car were injured.

In the business, seven adults and three children sustained injuries in the crash. Many of the injuries appear to have been caused by broken glass from the window the vehicle slammed through. The children were taken to a local hospital, including the 5-year-old whom suffered serious injuries.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
