A UCLA Wide Receiver was struck and killed by a vehicle in San Clemente in the early morning hours of Sunday, September 8th. The victim, Nick Pasquale, 20, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

A UCLA Wide Receiver was struck and killed by a vehicle in San Clemente in the early morning hours of Sunday, September 8th. The victim, Nick Pasquale, 20, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Pasquale was hit by a vehicle in a residential neighborhood of San Clemente around 1:30 a.m. on Camino De Los Mares, west of Calle Nuevo. The driver who struck Pasquale immediately called police and stayed at the scene of the accident. The driver was questioned and released, and police do not suspect that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision. An autopsy is scheduled to be performed on Tuesday.

An impromptu vigil was held Sunday evening for Pasquale at San Clemente High School’s football field. Hundreds of family, friends, current teammates, and former teammates paid their respects.
