A tour bus carrying 36 passengers driving from Los Angeles to Yakima, Washington rear ended a big rig near Tulare early Tuesday, January 15th. 15 people were hospitalized after the crash, including the driver of the big rig.

The incident occurred on State Route 99 just south of Tulare, just after midnight. The Fronteras tour bus driver blamed fog as the reason for the crash, but no fog was reported in the area. The bus was carrying 36 passengers at the time. 14 of those passengers were taken to local hospitals while 17 were treated and released at the scene of the crash.

Highway 99 was closed for a time after the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
