Two people were injured when a suspected DUI driver reversed a Chevy Tahoe into a Long Beach barber shop in the late morning of Tuesday, February 2nd. The crash occurred around 11 a.m. at Suttons Barber Shop on Del Amo Boulevard at Bellflower Boulevard.

According to authorities, 67-year-old Michael Anthony Digiampaolo, of Lakewood, was under the influence when he somehow reversed his vehicle into the barber shop. A man sitting outside of Suttons and a customer inside were both struck by the vehicle. Both victims were taken to local hospitals for injury treatment.

Digiampaolo was arrested at the scene and is being held at Long Beach City Jail on suspicion of DUI. Experts were unable to guarantee the structural integrity of Suttons Barber Shop, closing the business after the crash.
