A suspected drunk driver crashed into an ATV on a dangerous canyon road, killing the ATV driver, an off-duty firefighter, and the driver's son, a paramedic, early Saturday, October 10th.

A suspected drunk driver crashed into an ATV on a dangerous canyon road, killing the ATV driver, an off-duty firefighter, and the driver’s son, a paramedic, early Saturday, October 10th. The deceased victim has been identified as David Lodarski, 58, of Colton.

According to authorities, Lodarski and his son Hunter were traveling south on Reche Canyon Road near Colton when a Saturn sedan rear-ended their ATV. The ATV was pushed into oncoming traffic, where it was struck by a Mazda 3 sedan, cuasing the ATV to overturn. Both men in the ATV were taken to a local hospital, where David Lodarski later died.

The driver of the Saturn, identified as Kevin Paul Diehl, 33, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influrence and vehicular manslaughter. Diehl had previously been charged with driving under the influence. Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
