A contractor with the Los Angeles Department of Public Works was hospitalized in critical condition after he was struck by a drunk driver near LAX early Thursday, November 7th.

A contractor with the Los Angeles Department of Public Works, Lighting Bureau was hospitalized in critical condition after he was struck by a drunk driver near LAX early Thursday, November 7th. The crash occurred near the tunnel at the intersection of Interstate 105 and Sepulveda Blvd.

The worker was injured after the drunk driver crashed into a work zone sign trailer, which struck the victim as he as removing road cones and flares. He was literally knocked out of his shoes. He was taken to the hospital with two broken arms and a concussion after the crash. The driver who crashed his vehicle was identified as Devin Scott Enderle, 30. Enderle was taken to jail and charged on suspicion of DUI.

The tunnel on Sepulveda was closed following the crash.
