Merced, CA (March 19, 2024) –  Richard Gluhm (67) of Merced died in a hit-and-run accident in the area of 12th and V Street in Modesto. According to The Merced Sun Star, the authorities responded shortly after 7:30 p.m. on March 8, 2024.

Richard Gluhm, 67, from Merced, fell victim to a hit-and-run accident at 12th and V Street in Merced earlier this month.

The Merced County Sheriff Coroner’s Office confirmed his identity.

Unfortunately, despite attempts at life-saving measures, the Merced police declared Richard Gluhm dead at the scene. Sadly, his small dog also perished in the accident.

Merced Police Sgt. Nathan McKinnon reports they are pursuing new leads and searching for a Chevrolet Tahoe involved in the deadly event. 

To date, no arrests have been made.
