At least one person was critically injured after exiting his car during a 16-vehicle collision on the 101 Freeway early in the morning Friday, January 25th. Around 12:20 a.m., the rain appears to be a primary factor in the accident, which closed all lanes of the south 101 Freeway in the Cahuenga Pass.

Many, many other serious accidents were reported overnight and into the morning hours. NBC News has listed a few of those accidents here. If you’re driving on the Los Angeles freeway system in the rain, be sure to turn on your headlights and drive cautiously. 342 accidents were reported yesterday before 9:00 a.m.
