San Martin, CA (April 23, 2024) – A pedestrian accident in San Martin killed a 56-year-old Gilroy man after a car hit him while crossing Monterey road near Roosevelt Avenue. According to the East Bay Times, the crash happened around 5:20 a.m. on Tuesday.

A pedestrian accident in San Martin left a 56-year-old Gilroy man fatal after a driver hit him on  Monterey Road near Roosevelt Avenue, the California Highway Patrol said. 

At the time of the accident, the weather was cool, cloudy, and dark.

Reportedly, the victim was crossing Monterey Road from east to west. During this attempt, a southbound driver in a 1998 Ford Windstar, moving at approximately 50 mph, hit him. 

The CHP has identified the victim as a 56-year-old man from Gilroy. 

Accordingly, the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office will announce his full identity after confirmation and notifying his family.

As of now, the authorities do not suspect alcohol or drugs played a part in this pedestrian accident in San Martin.
