Two new studies have been released reaffirming the dangers of Avandia.

Avandia, a diabetes drug manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline, has been under investigation for increasing the risk of heart attack and heart failure in patients taking the prescription. The Law Offices of Larry H. Parker Avandia webpage has more information on previous Avandia studies. Now, two new studies have been released reaffirming the dangers of Avandia. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will be meeting soon to determine if Avandia should be removed from the market.

Compounding the research of previous clinical safety trials, the Cleveland Clinic, a non-profit academic medical center, found that Avandia increases the risk of a heart attack anywhere from 28% to 39%. The Cleveland Clinic’s head of Cardiology has insisted that Avandia be pulled from the market. The other study released shows that Avandia places patients at a greater risk of heart attack and heart failure than a rival drug.

If you or a loved one has experienced a heart attack or other adverse heart event while taking Avandia, you may be entitled to compensation. Call The Law Offices of Larry H. Parker today at (800) 333-0000 or send us an email using the Contact Us form on the right.
