A crash on the southbound 15 Freeway involving a big rig, a bus, and several other vehicles caused one injury and backed up traffic for miles during the morning rush Tuesday, July 22nd. The collision occurred near Via Rancho Parkway in Escondido at about 9:15 a.m.

The accident closed at least two lanes and two on ramps to the freeway, leaving the 15 with heavy traffic. The lanes and on ramps were closed for about 2 hours, with one of the on ramps being closed for about 3 hours. One person was taken to Palomar Medical Center for injury treatment.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
