The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced last Thursday the recall of 80,000 IKEA Patrull Klamma Baby Gates and their extensions because of an issue where the gate can open unexpectedly. With the issue of the gate opening unintentionally, it could result in a child falling out and further injuring themselves.
The product was first recalled by IKEA in May because the gate was dismounting from the wall and not staying in place. 18 injuries were reported after the recall, including 3 reports of children falling down stairs and injuring themselves. Since then, the latest recall has reported 10 additional injuries with 2 concussions.

Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the baby gate and their extensions and return them to any IKEA store for a full refund.
