A motorcyclist rear-ended a car on Interstate 805 the night of Tuesday, April 2nd, which lead to a chain-reaction of collisions that involved at least five cars and sent two to the hospital.

Authorities believe that the five-car crash was caused by a driver or drivers not paying attention to warning signs and cones placed after the motorcycle accident. Numerous cars were unable to slow down fast enough, leading to the pileup. Two people sustained serious injuries and were taken to the hospital.

The incident occurred on the southbound 805 Freeway near University Avenue.
