A five-vehicle crash involving a big rig closed all lanes of the 110 North approaching downtown Los Angeles early Tuesday, October 27th, backing up rush hour traffic for miles. The collision occurred around 5:30 a.m. at Gage Avenue in South Los Angeles.

According to authorities, up to five vehicles collided in the slow lanes of the 110 North, causing a big rig to overturn and block traffic. Not much information was immediately available about how the crash occurred. Injuries were reported in the crash, but the number of injuries and the conditions of the victims were unavailable. Authorities requested a cleanup crew for spilled fuel from the overturned big rig.

As a result of the crash, the entire northbound freeway was closed for at least an hour. Two express lanes were opened around 6:30 a.m., but traffic was backed up for miles. The crash remains under investigation.
