From all of us at The Law Offices of Larry H. Parker, have a safe and sane Independence Day holiday!

Independence Day is upon us once again, and that means fireworks. Fireworks are bright, loud, colorful, and often illegal. The legality of fireworks varies from city to city in southern California, and with the severity of the recent drought, expect many law enforcement agencies to be cracking down on illegal fireworks this holiday.

If fireworks aren’t illegal in your area, they still must meet the ‘safe and sane’ legal guideline. These types of fireworks generally consist of sparklers, snakes, smokers, and similar products. While safer and more sane than fireworks that explode, these types of fireworks can cause injury, so be extra cautious.

Find a list of cities in Los Angeles County and their fireworks rules here. Find a map of cities in Orange County here. These lists may be a bit outdated, so be sure to check with your local law enforcement agency.

Even with safe and sane fireworks, please be sure to follow proper firework safety protocols. From all of us at aThe Law Offices of Larry H. Parker, have a safe and sane Independence Day holiday!
