A Southern California Edison (SCE) worker was killed and three other workers were injured in an industrial accident at a Menifee electrical substation on the morning of Thursday, April 25th. The accident occurred around 7:43 a.m. in an underground vault near the Eastern Municipal Water District destination plant. The project was described as infrastructure improvement.

The worker who died was identified as 38-year-old Jose “Raul” Ros, who had worked for SCE for 11 years. Ros worked as a distribution lineman for the company and is survived by his wife and two children. The injured workers have not been identified; they were treated and released at a local hospital.

SCE is currently investigating the cause of the accident but has stated that it is not related to a nearby copper theft that resulted in a power outage on Wednesday, April 24th.
