The Denver Broncos learned about the 101 Freeway in dramatic fashion Monday, February 1st, when all three team buses were involved in a crash just north of Highway 237 in Santa Clara. The incident occurred around 1:45 p.m.

According to authorities, a driver in a Toyota RAV-4, possibly thinking he was being pulled over, made an unsafe lane change, cutting off the procession of buses. The SUV driver forced a CHP motorcycle escort to take evasive maneuvers, causing a chain-reaction. The first bus in the procession braked hard, avoiding the motorcycle, but the second bus was unable to stop in time and swerved, striking the motorcycle. The third bus struck the second bus.

The CHP officer was taken to a local hospital and treated for minor injuries. None of the players were treated for injuries at the time of the crash. Some players have reported aches and soreness today, which is extremely common in vehicle accidents.
