Daniel Steffens, 34, of Waterford, died in a car accident in Oakdale, the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office confirmed.

The accident occurred when Daniel Steffens’ car collided with a power line pole on Yosemite Avenue just north of Wakefield Drive.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Daniel Steffens was driving his 2012 Audi sedan south on South Yosemite. Initially in the slow lane, he unexpectedly swerved left, crossing into the northbound lanes. Then, he hit the concrete curb and crashed into a Pacific Gas & Electric pole.

Daniel Steffens was the sole occupant of his car and was wearing his seatbelt. At present, whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash is still under investigation. Moreover, the report did not specify his speed or whether he attempted to brake.

Unfortunately, the authorities declared Daniel Steffens dead at the scene.
