Investigative journalists followed 25 tour buses around Southern California equipped with hidden cameras and speed guns. The results were not reassuring. Numerous tour buses have been involved in high profile bus accidents this year.

The NBC4 I-Team followed the tour buses from six different companies for three months. The investigation discovered high levels of distracted driving, what the Department of Transportation claims is the leading cause of bus accidents. One reported incident was a driver talking on his cellphone, completely ignoring a red light. 24 of the 25 buses were caught speeding.
