Mendocino, CA (March 12, 2024) – A car accident in Mendocino left a 73-year-old Southern California man fatal after making an unsafe turn causing the van to leave the roadway. According to the Daily Journal, the accident happened around 10:15 a.m. on Saturday.

The California Highway Patrol reported that the driver was driving a 2006 BraunAbility E350 van southbound on Hwy. 1. 

For an unknown reason, he made an unsafe turn south of mile marker 77. This is a few miles north of Fort Bragg.

Consequently, the van veered off the roadway. Then, it descended an embankment, crashed into a fence, overturned and struck a tree.

The driver was wearing his seatbelt, notes the CHP. Meanwhile, neither alcohol nor drugs seem to have contributed to the collision. 

As of now, the cause of his death in this car accident in Mendocino is still under investigation.
