A tragic accident in Orange has claimed the life of a 3-year-old girl and seriously injured her father while they were waiting for a bus on Saturday, January 12th.

At about 3:30 PM on Saturday, the man and his daughter were waiting for the bus on Tustin St. just south of Taft Avenue. The driver of a Kia Soul was driving south when he was cut off by another motorist. The Kia’s driver swerved into oncoming traffic to avoid a collision and swerved a second time to avoid the oncoming traffic and over-corrected. His car ran into the bus stop after jumping the curb.

The girl’s mother, who was also present at the scene was not injured. The driver of the vehicle involved in the accident and his 5-year-old son were also not injured. Orange Police have stated that alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
