San Francisco, CA (March 18, 2024) – A bus accident in San Francisco left three people, including a child, dead and two others injured after a car hit a bus stop at Ulloa Street and Lenox Way.  According to NBC, the accident happened around 12:13 p.m. on Saturday.

The accident happened when an eastbound car rammed into a bus shelter on Ulloa Street and Lenox Way, according to Lt. Mariano Elias of the fire department.

Upon arrival, emergency teams pronounced two individuals in the shelter dead. Moreover, three others, including the car driver, were hospitalized.

San Francisco police spokesperson Eve Laokwansathitaya stated that a female adult later died in hospital. Further, Laokwansathitaya revealed an infant among those hospitalized faces grave injuries.

According to Walk San Francisco, an advocacy group, one man and a child are among the deceased.

Walk San Francisco highlighted the bustling West Portal Avenue, renowned for its pedestrian traffic and rail lines. Then, Jodie Medeiros from Walk San Francisco pushed for a reevaluation of pedestrian safety in such busy areas.

Though the cause of the crash is under investigation, San Francisco police say infrastructure didn’t contribute to the tragedy.
