A bicyclist traveling along the curb was struck and killed by a flatbed truck in an industrial area near downtown Los Angeles on Monday, August 4th. The incident occurred near South Alameda Street and East 20th Street around 1 p.m.

The bicyclist, identified only as a man in his early 40s, was biking south along the curb of Alameda when he was struck by a flatbed big rig. The impact caused the bicyclist to fall under the rear wheels of the truck. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to authorities, the driver of the big rig stayed at the scene of the incident and is not suspected of driving under the influence. Any witnesses to the collision should contact authorities. The incident is still under investigation.
