A man in his 60s was killed driving on the 405 South when a big rig collided with his sedan in Lawndale early Wednesday, December 9th. The crash occurred around 4:15 a.m. near Hawthorne Boulevard.

According to authorities, the victim was driving south when a big rig collided with his car, sending his vehicle into a wall. It’s unknown if other vehicles were involved in the crash. Responding officers found the victim outside of his crashed vehicle when they arrived.

The 405 South was closed for hours for investigation and cleanup, snarling traffic. All lanes were reopened around 8 a.m.
