Two crashes on the 10 Freeway East killed one, injured two, and closed all lanes of the freeway in Mid-City Los Angeles in the early morning hours of Monday, July 20th.
Two crashes on the 10 Freeway East killed one, injured two, and closed all lanes of the freeway in Mid-City Los Angeles in the early morning hours of Monday, July 20th. The deceased victim was only identified as a Culver City man in his 60s.

Details about the incident are still emerging. The first crash, involving three vehicles, occurred around 3:45 a.m. near La Brea Avenue. The second crash, also involving three vehicles, occurred just after the first one. The deceased victim was pronounced dead at the scene, but it’s unknown which vehicle he was driving in at the time of the crash. One of the vehicles caught fire during the collision.

The Santa Monica Freeway was closed for about four hours following the crashes for investigation and cleanup. Traffic from the 10 east was directed onto La Brea Avenue for hours, causing massive traffic in the Mid City area. All lanes of the 10 were reopened around 7:30 a.m. The crash remains under investigation.
