One person was killed and two others were injured after a GMC pickup truck struck a parked, occupied Honda Civic, flipped over, and struck another parked, occupied vehicle on PCH in Malibu early Saturday, June 13th. The deceased victim has been identified as Dewayne Coleman, 47, best known as MC Supreme, a rapper from the 1990s.

The crash occurred around 6:22 a.m. Saturday morning on Pacific Coast Highway at Corral Canyon Road in Malibu. Coleman and a female passenger were in their parked car when the driver of a GMC truck, identified as Philip Thomas Torres II, 34, of Oxnard, slammed into Coleman’s vehicle. Torres’ vehicle flipped over and then struck a parked GMC Sierra. Coleman was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a local hospital. Torres suffered minor injuries. The driver and passenger in the Sierra were not injured.

Authorities were investigating whether or not drugs or alcohol was a factor in the fatal crash. Torres was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter. This crash was only one of many to occur on the Malibu stretch of PCH this weekend, renewing calls for safety in the area.
