Hewlett-Packard recalls batteries due to fire hazard

An additional 162,600 batteries were recalled by HP after 40 additional reports of batteries overheating and rupturing, including seven burn injuries, one smoke inhalation injury, and 36 reports of property damage. Two previous recalls affected 54,000 and 70,000 other batteries. The batteries were made in China. See the recall.

Bell Sports recalls bicycle helmets due to head injury hazard

About 33,600 bicycle helmets were recalled by Bell Sports after a report of a plastic buckle failing during an accident, resulting in injury. The bicycle helmets were made in Taiwan. See the recall.

Horizon Hobby recalls model helicopters due to impact and laceration hazards

About 17,900 Blade mCP X Bind-N Fly. Ready to Fly Remote Control Model Helicopters, and replacement Blade mCP X Main Blade Grips with Bearings were recalled after receiving 312 reports of the rotor blades flying off the rotor head. In 34 of these incidents, someone was struck with the errant blade, causing 12 injuries. The recalled helicopters were made in China. See the recall.

Janome America recalls sewing machines due to fire hazard

About 600 Janome America Elna eXcellence 740 sewing machines were recalled after one report of a wire short circuiting and catching fire. No injuries or property damage have been reported. The recalled sewing machines were manufactured in Japan and Taiwan. See the recall.

Woodstock Percussion recalls musical shaker due to laceration and choking hazards

About 10,100 Gripper Shaker musical instruments were recalled after a report of the handle detaching from the shaker, exposing a rough edge and small steel pellets and a plastic plug. No injuries have been reported. The Gripper Shaker was made in China. See the recall.
