A charter bus crashed into a jackknifed trailer north of Hanford, CA in the afternoon of Thursday, July 18th. 10 of the 15 passengers on the bus sustained injuries. The accident occurred on Highway 43 at Cairo Avenue around 4:15 p.m.

According to authorities, the crash occurred after the semi truck slowed down for traffic when approaching Cairo Avenue. This action caused the empty trailer towed by the big rig to enter opposite lanes, which was then struck by the charter bus. 10 people on the bus were injured and taken to three different local hospitals.

Highway 43 was subsequently closed for investigation and cleanup.
