One adult and three children were injured, one child injured seriously, when a firetruck struck their Jeep Cherokee in Phoenix on the evening of Sunday, December 6th. The crash occurred around 7 p.m. on North 43rd Avenue near West Roosevelt Street.

According to authorities, the firetruck was responding to a fire at the time of the crash. The truck was traveling south in the northbound lanes when it hit the Jeep. The Jeep, carrying four child passengers, struck another vehicle after the initial collision. The driver of the Jeep and three children were injured, one seriously. All four children were taken to a local hospital as a precaution. No firefighters were hurt in the crash.

Firefighters say their lights and sirens were on, but at least one witness at the scene disputed that claim, saying the sirens were not on. The crash remains under investigation.
