A Los Angeles County bus taking inmates from the courthouse in Long Beach to Men’s Central Jail in downtown Los Angeles was involved in a three-vehicle accident on Wednesday, February 19th. The accident occurred on a freeway near the Men’s Central Jail around noon, injuring 27.

According to authorities, 24 inmates and three sheriff’s deputies reported minor injuries after the accident. The prison bus was able to complete its route to the jail, where the victims were examined and treated.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
