Called the "101 Slow Jam", The 101 will be closed for 40 hours beginning tonight, February 5th, at 10:00 p.m. The closure is for the demolition of the 6th Street Viaduct.

Called the “101 Slow Jam”, The 101 will be closed for 40 hours beginning tonight, February 5th, at 10:00 p.m. The closure is for the demolition of the 6th Street Viaduct. The closure will be from the 10 Freeway near Union Station to the 5 Freeway interchange. The closure is expected to end on Sunday at 3:00 p.m.

The construction project has provided a map of the affected locations.

Closed interchanges include the 60 West to the 101 North and the 5 North to the 101 North. The 101 South will force drivers to take the 10 East at the 10/101 split.

Be sure to plan ahead if you have to travel on the downtown freeways this weekend!
