A big rig truck failed to slow down in a construction zone and struck multiple cars, killing one and injuring seven others on Interstate 40 west of Flagstaff, Arizona on Monday, August 25th. The deceased victim was a 27-year-old Israeli man. The crash occurred around 11 a.m. near Bellemont.

According to authorities, traffic was backed up in a construction zone around mile marker 185 when the semi failed to brake for the traffic. The truck slammed into three vehicles, causing the fatality and injuries.

Interstate 40 westbound was closed for hours for investigation and cleanup.
