In what is becoming a scary trend, another wrong-way driver has caused a fatal crash, this time on the 210 Freeway in Rancho Cucamonga early Sunday, July 20th. Three people, including the wrong-way driver, were killed. Two others people were seriously injured. The crash occurred around 2:22 a.m.

The crash was located in the carpool lane of the 210 East, just west of Day Creek Boulevard. The wrong-way driver, identified as Mack Jaramillo, 28, of La Habra, was traveling west on the eastbound side of the freeway in a blue Hyundai when he slammed into a silver Hyundai occupied by four people. The two backseat passengers, identified as 38-year-old Falguni Shah, of Fontana, and Veena Shah, of London, England, were pronounced dead at the scene. Jaramillo was also pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and front seat passenger in the silver Hyundai were both rushed to nearby hospitals with serious injuries. According to authorities, the occupants of the silver vehicle appeared to be returning from a family reunion.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the crash, including whether or not alcohol was involved. The 210 East was closed for about five hours for the investigation and cleanup.
