A tour bus carrying 18 passengers from Los Angeles to Casino Pauma southeast of Temecula crashed late Sunday, September 1st. The driver reported that the brakes on the bus failed when rounding a curve on Pala Temecula Road near Arouba Road around 11 p.m. Nine passengers and the driver were taken to Palomar Hospital with minor injuries.

The bus smashed into a guard rail, then trees and boulders. Authorities are continuing to investigate the bus crash, but do not suspect that drugs or alcohol were a factor. The driver was Danhill Wong, 58, of El Monte. He was driving a 1996 tour bus registered to his home address. The bus route from LA to the casino is operated by Polar Express.

This is the second tour bus crash in Southern California in recent days.
