A crash involving 3 big rigs and a Mercedes-Benz closed the east 210 Freeway transition to the west 134 Freeway early Wednesday, April 2nd. The crash occurred after one of the big rigs lost control of his vehicle on a wet roadway. The incident triggered a chain-reaction, involving a Mercedes-Benz and two other big rigs.

The initial crash occurred around 2:00 a.m. The first truck involved lost control, hit the center divider, went up a dirt embankment and subsequently jackknifed. As the driver attempted to activate his reflectors, a car approached the scene and swerved to avoid hitting the big rig driver. The Benz swerved around the truck and stopped near the dirt embankment. A second big rig slammed on its brakes when approaching the crash, causing a third big rig to rear end him.

The transition was closed and a SigAlert was issued around 2:45 to clean up the crash site. The driver of the third truck was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The SigAlert was cancelled around 7:20 a.m.
