3 new recalls have been announced since last week by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) including recalls for children’s nightgowns, ROV’s and Ikea’s MALM 6-drawer chests.
Children’s Nightgowns by Saro Trading
Saro Trading Company has recalled 7,800 of their children’s nightgowns due to a failure to meet federal flammability standards for children’s sleepwear. Children are at risk of serious burn injury, and consumers should immediately take the recalled nightgowns away from children then contact the company for a full refund. {See the recall}.
Ranger ROV’s by Polaris
Polaris Ranger 570 ROV’s are being recalled due to an overheating issue. The ROVs can overheat during heavy engine loading, slow-speed intermittent use and/or high outdoor temperatures. About 43,000 2015 and 2016 ROV’s are being recalled after receiving 7 reports of overheating. No injuries have been reported. If you are experiencing this issue, immediately stop using the ROV and contact Polaris to schedule a free repair. The company is also contacting all known purchasers of this product directly. {See the recall}.
IKEA MALM 6-Drawer Chests
IKEA is recalling 29 million MALM 6-drawer chests because of fatality to children.
The recalled chests and dressers tip over if they are not properly anchored to the wall, posing a serious hazard that can result in death or injuries to children. The original recall and notification was announced in 2015. At the time IKEA offered repair kits as a solution. After multiple fatalities, the company is now working with the Consumer Product Safety Commission on tip over protection and enhanced product safety methods. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled chest or dresser if it is not properly anchored to the wall, and then contact IKEA for a refund or a free wall-anchoring repair kit. {See the recall}
