A 23-year-old woman from Twentynine Palms was driving recklessly in the late evening of Sunday, June 16th. Her actions led to a head-on car crash that killed another driver and herself.

A 23-year-old woman from Twentynine Palms was driving recklessly in the late evening of Sunday, June 16th. Her actions led to a head-on car collision that killed both herself and another driver. The crash occurred in Morongo Valley.

Witnesses saw the 23-year-odl woman recklessly driving a 2009 Dodge east on Highway 62, Twentynine Palms Highway, at a high rate of speed. At 9:55 p.m., the woman veered into oncoming traffic near North Star Trail, striking a 2004 Ford vehicle head-on. The Ford was driven by a 31-year-old woman from Palm Desert. Both women died at the scene of the crash.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the crash.
