Pedestrian Accidents in San Diego Left Three Pedestrians Fatal

San Diego County, CA (April 18, 2024) – Pedestrian accidents in San Diego killed three pedestrians. The authorities recently identified the victims. According to The San Diego Union-Tribune, the incidents happened over a three-day period starting on Saturday.

On Saturday at about 11 a.m., the first casualty occurred. The Medical Examiner’s Office and the California Highway Patrol reported a Ford F-550 pickup truck veered off course on Pine Valley Boulevard near Rocky Pass and hit Mary Stewart, 61 from Pine Valley.

Consequently, paramedics responded swiftly, transporting Mary Stewart to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego. Regrettably, she was later declared dead.

Then, on Sunday, just after 5:30 p.m., another pedestrian was hit. While crossing Oceanside Boulevard with friends, an eastbound vehicle struck Armando Gutierrez, 21 from Escondido. 

Unfortunately, Armando Gutierrez was taken to Tri-City Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Finally, on Monday around 10:55 p.m., Darryle Lawler, 63, met a similar fate. Crossing state Route 94 near Old Campo Road in Spring Valley, an eastbound Audi sedan hit him.

Post-accident, the driver of the Audi stopped briefly, allowing a passenger to call 911 before fleeing the scene. Sadly, Darryle Lawler died at the scene.
