The California Highway Patrol states a northbound Honda Element on I-15 near Friars Road struck a pedestrian walking in the freeway lanes.

Unfortunately, severe injuries led to the man’s death at the scene.

Additionally, the Element’s driver, a 33-year-old from Chula Vista, remained to help with the investigation.

Consequently, the incident closed three northbound I-15 lanes for an hour.
