A 19-year-old woman from Los Angeles was killed after the motorcycle she was riding passenger on crashed on Interstate 5 in Commerce on the afternoon of Sunday, April 26th. The victim has been identified as Joseline Celeste Hernandez.

The crash occurred around 1:40 p.m. on the 5 North at Garfield Avenue. The driver of the motorcycle, a 26-year-old man from South Gate, was attempting to split lanes when he struck three other vehicles on the freeway. Both the motorcyclist and Hernandez were ejected from the bike during the crash. The motorcycle driver only sustained minor injuries, but Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene. According to authorities, Hernandez suffered severe head trauma.

Three of the lanes on the 5 North were closed for four hours as a result of the crash.
