The authorities identified the victims as James Baker, 25, and Juan Jaramillo, 60, both from Fresno. According to The Fresno Bee, the incident happened just after 1:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Reportedly, deputies from the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office were in pursuit of the motorcycle. They were following it north on Maroa Avenue towards Ashlan Avenue.

Subsequently, traveling at a high speed, the motorcyclist collided with a dark-colored sedan moving through the intersection. 

Unfortunately, James Baker and Juan Jaramillo died as a result of the crash.

At present, the police department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating to determine who was at fault.
