A man driving in the wrong direction on Interstates 80 and 680 in Solano County was killed after he crashed head-on into a larger vehicle on the evening of Sunday, May 19th. The man was driving in the wrong direction for nine miles.

According to witnesses and authorities, a man driving a Toyota Corolla drove onto eastbound Interstate 80 near California Sate Highway 12, headed west. The man then transferred from the eastbound 80 onto northbound Interstate 680, still driving in the wrong direction. After driving for about 9 miles, he collided with a Hummer H2 driving in fast lane. The collision happened around 8 p.m.

The driver of the Hummer was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. The northbound 680 was closed for about two hours after the crash. Authorities are continuing to investigate the situation, including whether or not drugs or alcohol were involved.
