Maclaren has issued a recall for 1 million of its strollers. The recall affects umbrella style strollers purchased between 1999 and 2009. The affected models include the Volo, Triumph, Quest Sport, Quest Mod, Techno XT, TechnoXLR, Twin Triumph, Twin Techno, and Easy Traveller models.

The recall has been issued due to at least a dozen reports of children placing their finger in the stroller’s hinge mechanism, causing severe laceration or amputation when the stroller is unfolded or opened. Maclaren has asked it’s customers to stop using the strollers immediately and call to request a free repair kit.

This is obviously a major recall, affecting the well-being of millions of toddlers and children. For more information about this recall, see the press release from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission here. The Law Offices of Larry H. Parker will be investigating this faulty product.
