The California Highway Patrol reported the accident happened at the Slauson Avenue off-ramp of the Santa Ana (5) Freeway heading south. Officers also found a tan sedan stopped on the off-ramp’s right shoulder. 

Consequently, the authorities called for two tow trucks to remove vehicles for evidence, suggesting the involvement of multiple vehicles.

Unfortunately, Luke Garcia and Madelynne Broyles succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene. The Medical Examiner’s office identified the two.

Additionally, the CHP issued a Sigalert at 8:08 a.m. that closed the Slauson Avenue on-ramp to the freeway. This alert was lifted at 12:34 p.m.
