“Kids to Camp offers a cool and refreshing respite from the hardships of life for these kids,” said Cheryl Carter, Owner of Johnny Rebs restaurants. "If we can offer these young people a glimpse of a good life to expand their vision, create friendships and build self-confidence, what better way to offer hope.”

Since the early 90’s, our firm has been opening its doors by awarding students across Southern California with rewarding educational opportunities. However, when it comes to providing a safe place for children in need, Send-A-Kid-to-Camp is an inspirational organization that brings new meaning to the term ‘community service’.

“Kids to Camp offers a cool and refreshing respite from the hardships of life for these kids,” said Cheryl Carter, Owner of Johnny Rebs restaurants. “If we can offer these young people a glimpse of a good life to expand their vision, create friendships and build self-confidence, what better way to offer hope.”

In an environment created just for them, children learn real life skills, develop self-esteem, and gain a sense of independence and community. Whether children are playing, exploring nature, conquering new heights, or becoming part of a camp family, they are creating memories that will last a lifetime.

The Press-Telegram and the Long Beach Community Foundation have partnered to send kids to local mountain camps operated by Boys & Girls Clubs, YMCA, Camp Fire USA, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
