A woman was killed and nine others injured after a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 in Castaic on the afternoon of Sunday, August 31st. The crash occurred just north of Lake Hughes Road around 2 p.m.
Many of the details of the crash were not released by authorities. The incident involved four vehicles, and in the aftermath of the collision, an overturned pickup truck was blocking lanes of the northbound 5. The deceased victim, only identified as female, was pronounced dead at the scene. It is unknown which vehicle she was occupying.
All lanes of the northbound 5 were reopened about five hours after the crash.
