A drunk driver in Chandler, Arizona drove his pickup truck into a studio apartment, stopping inches from a couple that was sleeping early Tuesday, February 18th. The crash occurred at Ray Road and Arizona Avenue.
Authorities report that a Dodge pickup truck driven by Alexander Trujillo, 20, crashed into an exterior wall of the apartment occupied by Gambino Ruiz and Angela Romo at about 45 miles per hour. The truck crashed through the wall, leaving glass and debris throughout the apartment. Romo was taken to the hospital for injuries.
Trujillo was taken to the hospital for minor injuries and was arrested for driving under the influence. Structures around the apartment were evacuated due to fears of structural damage.
