A possible street racing crash in La Puente killed two men and seriously injured a woman early Sunday, April 5th. The crash occurred around 3:20 a.m. on North Puente Avenue near Amar Road.

A possible street racing crash in La Puente killed two men and seriously injured a woman early Sunday, April 5th. The crash occurred around 3:20 a.m. on North Puente Avenue near Amar Road. The deceased victims have been identified as Johnny Deleon, 26, of West Covina and Jonathan Londono, 19, of La Puente.

According to authorities, Deleon was behind the wheel of an older model white Chevrolet Malibu with two passengers, Londono and a 23-year-old woman. The Malibu was traveling south on North Puente Avenue at a high rate of speed when it crashed into a legally parked Ford truck near Amar Road. No skid marks were found at the scene. A witness told authorities that Deleon may have been racing a beige sedan.

Deleon and Londono were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The female passenger was was taken to Los Angeles County USC Medical Center with serious injuries.

The incident remains under investigation. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash. Witnesses reported that the Malibu was traveling much faster than the posted speed limit of 45 miles per hour.
