One person was killed and three more injured after an SUV rear-ended a sedan on the 605 Freeway in Norwalk the morning of Monday, November 16th.

One person was killed and three more injured after an SUV rear-ended a sedan on the 605 Freeway in Norwalk the morning of Monday, November 16th. The deceased victim, a passenger in the sedan, has been identified as Nhung K. Nguyen, 50, of Westminster.

According to authorities, a 2003 Toyota Camry was driving north on the 605, just past Alondra Boulevard, when it was rear ended by a 2004 Chevy Suburban around 9:15 a.m. The cause of the crash was unknown.

Nguyen, a passenger in the Camry, was taken to St. Francis Medical Center and later died from her injuries. A second passenger in the Camry, a 45-year-old woman from Garden Grove, had to be extricated from the car by rescue personnel. She was also taken to St. Francis with severe injuries. The driver of the Camry, a 34-year-old man from Garden Grove, was taken to Long Beach Memorial Medical Center with minor injuries. The driver of the SUV, a 47-year-old woman from Long Beach, was also taken to Long Beach Memorial with moderate injuries.

The crash remains under investigation. After the crash, the four left lanes of the 605 North were closed for investigation and cleanup. The freeway reopened about two hours later.
