A two-car crash in unincorporated Los Angeles County near West Covina killed a 20-year-old woman and injured two late Thursday, January 14th. The collision occurred around 6:05 p.m. at the intersection of East Cortez Street and North Grand Avenue.

According to authorities, a 23-year-old West Covina man was driving an undisclosed Hyundai model vehicle south on Grand when he crashed into an eastbound 2014 Honda Civic occupied by two 20-year-old women. The driver of the Civic was pronounced dead at the scene. Her passenger suffered major injuries and was taken to USC Medical Center and was listed in critical condition. The driver of the Hyundai was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation. Authorities do not believe that alcohol was a factor in the crash.
